About Us

We are the consultants on your side.

It’s easy to feel like no one’s quite on your side. Software vendors and technical specialists pester you with questions and expect you to have all the answers, leaving you without help at the time you most need it: when you’re trying to work out what you really need from IT.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • It’s hard to know what to do with IT without knowing what’s out there
  • IT feels like a constant battle. Staff spend a lot of time working around systems instead of with them
  • IT costs keep going up, but it is hard to see why this is needed or how it is improving the business
  • Suppliers expect “business sign-off” on detailed requirements but business people who don’t know what they are signing off
  • Problems get stuck in the gaps between suppliers, leaving business users trying to handle technical problems
  • After experts have finished their work and leave, the internal team hasn’t been prepared to take over

We help you take control of your IT by being the consultants on your side.

We work as independant, hands-on versatilists: people who can cut across traditional business and IT roles to manage, analyse, build and train business-focused outcomes. We see better IT as more than just systems but a cohesive combination of better systems, people and processes that are aligned to business objectives.

Trends in IT – versatilists:

By 2021, 40 percent of IT staff will be versatilists, holding multiple roles, most of which will be business, rather than technology-related.

Our Philosophy

We spend a lot of time understanding the big picture of who you are, what you’re trying to do and the environment you operate in. That way we can steer each improvement to systems, people and processes towards achieving your overall objectives.

It’s not enough just to tick off a checklist of requirements. We like solutions that simple, sustainable and elegent. In other words, beautiful.

If you’re trying to do something new, things are not going to be clear. We don’t expect requirements to be perfect. Instead, we like contiuously refining ideas to work through ambiguity so you feel more and more confident about what you need.

We like making places more tech-savvy. Not just knowing how to use systems but helping people become more aware of how the world of IT works so they can  start leveraging technology for new ideas on their own.

We’re always learning, even if we’re not on a project. Learning about our clients, our client’s industries, new techniques and new technology. It’s what keeps us useful so it’s the single most important thing we do.

Big outcomes can be achieved in small pieces so we identify managable, deliverable pieces as early as possible so you can see results sooner.

We also like that we are small. We like that the person you meet at the start of the project is the person who will be there during it.

Our Story

The team at Little Bit Consutlling bring over 20 years’ experience working on projects to their consulting. We’ve been on both business operations and IT projects and developed a pretty important perspective: we are business people who are tech-savvy. We are used to moving between the everyday world of business and the strange world of technical experts.

In 2014, we took this experience and started Little Bit Consulting to offer our own brand of IT consulting: filling the void between “techsperts” and business. It’s what we love doing and our work to date has helped our clients get the outcomes they’ve been looking for in their IT.
